Matrimonial difficulties?

In order to begin divorce proceedings, you will need to show that your marriage has irretrievably broken down. This means that you must prove one of the following:

grounds for divorce

  • the adultery of your spouse
  • the unreasonable behaviour of your spouse
  • separation for at least two years (the consent of your spouse is required)
  • separation for at least five years (no consent needed)
  • desertion
